These stories were sent in by our workshop attendees:
My friend who is a writer said he would do a story on my new kitchen because it has concrete countertops, and he would submit it to the Boston Globe South Edition. He asked me to send photos, so I had the kitchen professionally photographed. We played phone tag and email tag, and finally I just gave up. Then I thought I would submit the story myself (as you know from my questionnaire I am not the best writer). Anyway I just said in my mind that somehow I would just do it.
I work part-time at a lighting store and my designer friend came in and I said, “Oh our picture is in the hometown news for the Woman's Business Networking meeting”, and that made me think of the Globe. I took a piece of paper and made a note to myself to contact the Globe, and I put the note in my pocket.
Later on a man came in with long, long, gray hair in a braid, wearing work overalls. I was waiting on him and talking and talking and talking and I was being very helpful etc. While he was leaving he said, “By the way I write for the Boston Globe, and if you want I can do a story for you.” I yelled and screamed and gave him a hug and said, “The universe sent you to me!” And I told him about my kitchen and he called the Globe right there in front of me and said he had a great story for them. Can you believe it??? He also writes for two magazines- a New England one and one called Martha’s Vineyard Style.
I am so excited I can’t believe it!!! Thanks for supporting me and helping me,
Love, Karen

Your website is "Be Your Bean"... my cat's name was Beans.
Years ago I did some graphic design work for a jewelry designer. I didn't see or hear from her for years. Then nine years ago when I was looking for a new job I saw an ad for a job making jewelry. It was the same woman who is my current boss, Deb. She needed to replace one of her employees who was leaving. The employee's name was Jill. A few weeks after working there my co-worker asked what my grandfather's first name was. When I told her she told me that my second cousin who I had never met also used to work for Deb.
I'm hoping there will be more amazing stories to report to you soon.
:)
Jill

As I type this email and am looking back and forth at your website. I finally clicked on What is Be Your Bean and began laughing out loud when I realized this whole time I have been nibbling on a huge jar of Jelly Bellies, picking out my favorite flavors. This jar sits on top of our fridge out of site of our toddler and I often forget it's there. I pulled it out when I sat down to reply to your email. How's that for the law of attraction?
Best regards,
Andrea
